There are many good reasons to recommend the young people in the house for a year at Oslofjord folk high school:
- We are a small school with about 70 students. In the first weeks, we spend a lot of time getting everyone to know everyone. The lines go on an overnight trip already in the first week, and before the autumn holidays we also manage a trip to Nordmarka with the whole school.
- Our environmental grantees’ main task is to make everyone feel seen and included.
- We are a grade-free school, where students can pursue their hobby in the line of their choice.
- There is always something going on in the evenings and at weekends at school! Sports activities, games and play, themed parties, film evenings and creative workshops are some examples.
- We admit pupils from the age of 18 in the same year that the school year starts. This means, for example, that we take in students who need a break before they finish upper secondary school, even if they don’t turn 18 until late this year.
- So far, we have not had a single case of infection by Covid-19 at the school among students or staff! Regardless of the corona situation in the rest of society, our students can be social together as a large cohort. We follow the health authorities’ infection control rules and are in close dialogue with Bærum’s municipal chief physician.
- We have great faith that we will be able to make regular trips this school year! If we are not allowed to travel to the planned destinations due to corona, we plan other exciting travel destinations together with the students.
